Andy Aoki has been teaching at Augsburg College since 1988. He was a co-founder of the Asian Pacific American Caucus, an American Political Science Association Related Group. His has published work on immigration, Asian American and other ethnoracial politics, multicultural education, and popular culture and politics. He is currently working on a study of Asian American racialization and consequences for panethnic political coalitions.
He has coauthored Newcomers, Outsiders, and Insiders: Immigrants and American Racial Politics in the Early Twenty-First Century (Ann Arbor: University of Michigan Press, 2010); Asian American Politics (Cambridge, UK: Polity Press, 2009), and has written many articles and encyclopedia entries.
